So, I’ve finally packed up and moved from Manchester to London. Manchester will always be home and I’ll always be a Manc at heart, but for now, London is most definitely calling. I’ve spent a lot of time here and I’m certainly no stranger to London but it’s true what they say, living here is a whole other ball game! Doing the move alone is both exhausting and exhilarating but if nothing else it’s an adventure, and that’s all I can ask for. As soon as I arrived in my new flat it immediately took me back to the first time I ever visited London when I was a young child all those years ago. I remember arriving in the hotel, strolling into my room and jumping onto the bed then immediately bouncing off and heading towards the balcony. As I gazed out over the city skyline, mentally drooling at the glorious, twinkling lights spread over the city, I was filled with glee. That giddy feeling I had as a child, knowing this place was full of adventure is a feeling that has never really left. However, if there’s one thing I can say with absolute certainty about this city, is that it’s bloody expensive! This brings me to my Track of the Day, The Dig – Million Dollar Man. This track is all about synth so if you like synth then you’ll like this. It’s fast paced and grasps onto the idea that even in today’s society, heading west and working hard is the way to find your fortune and make a million dollars. However, as the song draws to a close it depicts an idea that chasing the money for too long will cause you to lose more than just your mind.
